Commercial Lines Underwriter

Job Summary

Collaborating with management and team members, the full-time salaried Commercial Lines Underwriter will analyze coverage, manage submission packets, and assist in evaluating new risks while ensuring timely documentation and communication within the agency management system.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure completeness of submission packets for new accounts and forward to the marketplace for quotes
• Assist in the analysis and evaluation of new risks and provide renewal quotes as needed
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication in the agency management system, tracking all marketing submissions

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent experience with a minimum of 1 year in the insurance industry; an Associate degree is a plus
• P&C License must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment
• Basic knowledge of various P&C coverages and insurance products
• Competency in completing Acord forms and familiarity with agency management systems
• Strong data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
