Commercial Marine Underwriting Executive

Job Summary

To lead and expand the nationwide commercial marine underwriting operation, the remote Head of Commercial Marine Underwriting will develop underwriting strategies, manage portfolio performance, and foster broker relationships while mentoring a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute underwriting strategies, guidelines, and risk selection standards for the commercial marine portfolio
• Oversee portfolio performance metrics and partner with actuarial and claims teams to optimize results
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with brokers and represent the organization at industry events

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of commercial marine and/or ocean marine underwriting experience
• 5+ years of underwriting leadership or management experience
• Proven expertise in underwriting marinas, yacht clubs, and commercial fishing vessels
• Strong broker and distribution relationships within the marine insurance marketplace
• Bachelor's degree required; insurance designations preferred (e.g., CPCU, ARM)
