Commercial Underwriter

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Commercial Underwriter for their Business Owners Insurance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business, including processing endorsements, inspection reviews, and premium audits
• Manually rate risks while understanding the components that drive price
• Train new underwriters on new states, risk types, and complex underwriting issues

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher with a minimum of five years relevant experience in commercial lines, insurance industry, and/or underwriting; or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years relevant experience
• Minimum of two years of Commercial Lines insurance experience is preferred
• Experience in Commercial General Liability, Commercial Property, or BOP Underwriting is preferred
• Professional designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), or Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) are a plus
