Commercial Underwriter

Job Summary

Responsible for underwriting all major functions within the commercial lines unit, the full-time remote Commercial Underwriter for Small Fleet will evaluate new and renewal business, set premiums, and communicate underwriting information to agents and insureds, with occasional travel required.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new and renewal business while understanding pricing components
• Train and mentor underwriters on complex underwriting topics
• Handle escalations, inquiries, and leadership reviews to support underwriting consistency

Required qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or higher with a minimum of seven years of relevant commercial lines, insurance industry, and/or underwriting experience, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience
• Two or more years of Commercial Auto P&C Underwriting experience preferred
