Commercial Underwriter I

Job Summary

Working remotely, the full-time Commercial Underwriter I will shadow experienced underwriters, evaluate middle market accounts for risk selection and pricing, and maintain documentation while supporting the underwriting team.

Key responsibilities

• Shadow experienced underwriters to learn risk appetite and develop agency relationships
• Evaluate basic middle market accounts for risk selection and pricing under supervision
• Communicate with agents and collaborate with marketing representatives to enhance customer experience

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in insurance or business administration, or equivalent relevant experience
• Preferred insurance designations such as AINS, AU, CIC, or CPCU
• Knowledge of commercial insurance products and coverage options preferred
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
