Commercial Underwriting Technician

Job Summary

Supporting sound underwriting decisions, the full-time Commercial Underwriting Technician will review, approve, and process commercial applications while working primarily remotely with a required monthly in-office presence.

Key responsibilities

• Review, approve, and process commercial applications in accordance with underwriting guidelines
• Process changes to commercial policies within assigned authority limits
• Collaborate with underwriters and fellow technicians to service an assigned geographic territory and achieve team goals

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Completion of INS Series coursework or equivalent work experience required
• Demonstrated PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office products
• Ability to interpret underwriting guidelines and apply authority appropriately
