Job Summary
Maximizing revenue and volume turnover of fresh, frozen, and bulk meat products, the full-time remote Commodity Sales Manager will execute daily market trades, manage pricing strategies, and analyze market intelligence to optimize sales performance.
Key responsibilities
- Execute daily spot and forward sales of meat products while balancing inventory pressures against market prices
- Collaborate with production teams to monitor livestock numbers and cold storage levels, proactively clearing volume
- Negotiate and manage pricing mechanisms and contracts with high-volume buyers and distributors
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business, Animal Science, Food Marketing, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred
- 5+ years of commodity sales or trading experience in the meat manufacturing or livestock packing industries
- In-depth knowledge of carcass cutout economics, processing yields, and agricultural commodity risk management
- Proven track record in high-volume, margin-sensitive sales environments with strong negotiation skills
- Proficiency with ERP systems and commodity market data platforms
