Communications Associate

Job Summary

Seeking a versatile Communications Associate for a full-time, temporary position to develop and execute PR campaigns, pitch journalism to various media outlets, and respond to media inquiries, with the flexibility to work remotely or from one of the organization's offices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute PR campaigns for major investigations in alignment with organizational goals
• Pitch journalists and their reporting to various media channels while strengthening relationships with the press
• Respond to inbound media requests, schedule interviews, and prepare staff for media engagements

Required qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, preferably with a news organization
• Experience with media reporting tools and content management systems
• Impeccable news judgment and experience in vetting and verifying information
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines
