Communications Manager

Job Summary

To promote scientific research and enhance media relations, the remote Communications Manager - Science Media Relations will implement strategic communication plans, develop media materials, and cultivate relationships with journalists while managing multiple projects in a flexible environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement multi-year strategic communication plans to promote scientific manuscripts and abstracts
• Develop news releases, media pitches, and multimedia assets to communicate scientific research to the public
• Establish and cultivate relationships with journalists to secure media coverage for the Association's scientific work

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or a related field
• Three years of writing and editing experience with solid knowledge of AP Style
• Three years of experience managing press or promotional content submissions
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
• Two years of project management experience, preferably managing multiple projects concurrently
