Job Summary
Supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs, the full-time Communications Specialist/Technical Writer will plan, write, and edit content for internal and external audiences, ensuring clear communication of program developments and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Draft executive correspondence, briefings, talking points, and scripts for leadership while developing communication plans and strategies
- Research, write, and edit newsletters, reports, and web content, ensuring alignment with VA documentation standards
- Gather and compose technical information for user manuals and training materials, translating complex information into clear content for diverse audiences
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in communications or technical writing, preferably in federal or healthcare programs
- Experience writing and editing reports, newsletters, and training materials
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based systems
- Ability to manage multiple writing and editing assignments with attention to detail
