Communications Specialist

Job Summary

To protect and grow Coinbase's reputation, the full-time remote Communications Specialist will plan and execute proactive and reactive communications across various channels, manage media relations, and develop content aligned with the company's brand voice.

Key responsibilities:

• Own proactive communications plans for product launches and company announcements, including messaging development and media outreach
• Drive media relations by responding to inquiries, pitching stories, and managing relationships with reporters in the crypto and mainstream press
• Lead rapid-response communications for crisis management, collaborating with Legal, Policy, and executive leadership to craft clear narratives

Required qualifications:

• 7+ years of communications experience at a PR agency or in-house team, with at least 2 years in the crypto or fintech sector
• Proven media relations track record with established relationships in the crypto press and success in managing proactive and reactive communications
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to convey complex topics clearly
• Direct experience in supporting executive communications, including media briefings and message development for senior leaders
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly for improving workflow efficiency while maintaining human oversight
