Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Communications, the candidate will provide strategic communications guidance to support the Department of Veterans Affairs' Office of Suicide Prevention, focusing on Veteran outreach and behavioral health awareness through high-priority campaigns.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide expert advisory support for the design and execution of strategic communications campaigns targeting Veterans and internal VA stakeholders
  • Lead media analysis efforts to assess campaign effectiveness across various platforms and improve outreach strategies
  • Develop strategic communications recommendations for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring messaging consistency and alignment with mission objectives
Required qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in large-scale communications within a healthcare setting
  • Master's Degree in Communications, Public Health, Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • Prior experience working with federal agencies or the Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a VA PIV credential and pass a VA background investigation
  • Demonstrated expertise in social media analysis and implementing successful integrated communications campaigns
