Community Engineer

Job Summary

Building the technical foundation for community programs at scale, the full-time Community Engineer will design and maintain internal tooling, automate workflows, and own the technical architecture for initiatives while working remotely or from San Francisco or New York.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal tooling and infrastructure for global community programs
• Identify operational gaps and engineer solutions, automating processes and integrating external platforms
• Collaborate with the community team to translate program needs into technical requirements and deliver products

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of software engineering experience, preferably in a high-velocity startup
• Fluency with modern development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex
• Proven track record of building and shipping internal tooling or automation that enhances team operations
• Experience with API integration, lightweight web app development, and full-stack ownership
• Strong interest in developer communities and ability to thrive in ambiguous, greenfield environments
