Compiler Engineer

Job Summary

To support the growth of an open-source standard, the remote Compiler Engineer will manage the SCIP protocol, drive community engagement, and shape technical direction while collaborating with major organizations in the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Own SCIP governance and community direction, including triage and prioritization norms and contribution guidelines
• Set the technical direction for the SCIP protocol and its indexers, making high-stakes decisions that require compiler fluency
• Grow the SCIP ecosystem by increasing contributor engagement and maintaining high-quality standards across indexers

Required qualifications

• Proven experience in compiler engineering and language fluency, with a strong understanding of compiler toolchains
• Demonstrated ability to lead open-source projects, including setting governance and roadmap while mentoring contributors
• Experience in driving alignment across organizations and fostering community growth
• Genuine interest in AI and its application in code intelligence
• Strong communication skills to represent the project and engage with external technical audiences
