Complex Commercial Underwriter

Job Summary

Joining a new team in a fully remote capacity, the full-time Complex Commercial Underwriter will evaluate, select, and price complex risks across various commercial lines, including Property, Liability, Auto, and Workers Compensation, while ensuring agent compliance and enhancing customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize underwriting guidelines to assess and price complex risks, particularly in Hospitality and related industries
• Manage New Business and Renewal Referrals across the company's footprint
• Communicate effectively with agents to verify information and ensure compliance with Loss Control recommendations

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in commercial lines underwriting with experience in multiple lines of business
• Proven ability to underwrite in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality
• Understanding of the independent agent submission-to-bind process for medium-sized accounts
• Experience using tools for risk selection and pricing decisions
• Strong underwriting queue management skills with experience meeting defined SLAs
