Job Summary
To support compliance initiatives within a healthcare setting, the full-time remote Compliance Specialist - North Carolina will manage compliance programs, educate providers on regulations, and conduct internal audits to mitigate legal and financial risks.
Key responsibilities
- Implement and maintain compliance programs in line with government regulations and guidelines
- Educate providers on compliance issues, focusing on Medicare and Medicaid guidelines, HIPAA, and Fraud and Abuse
- Conduct routine internal audits and collaborate with staff to enhance documentation, coding, and compliance practices
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and auditing related to insurance billing
- Two years of experience with DRGs and APR-DRGs for technical coding roles
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required; CPC or CPMA preferred
- Experience in formal teaching of coding is preferred
