Component Design Engineer

Job Summary

To support the design development of reactor structures and components, the remote contract Component Design Engineer (RPA) will create design solutions for the Natrium Generation IV Reactor, coordinating with engineering teams and conducting design reviews.

Key responsibilities

• Design reactor structures and components from initial requirements through final design
• Coordinate inputs from Engineering and Project teams to produce design solutions
• Perform scoping analysis and present design results during design reviews

Required qualifications

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of four years of equipment/component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience
• Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
• Familiarity with CAD, preferably SolidWorks
