Job Summary

To create design solutions for various reactor structures and components, the contract Component Design Engineer (RPA) will work remotely, focusing on the design development of rotatable plug assembly equipment for the Natrium Generation IV Reactor while collaborating with a team of engineers and scientists.

Key responsibilities
  • Design reactor structures and components from initial requirements through final design
  • Coordinate inputs from Engineering and Project teams to produce effective design solutions
  • Perform scoping analysis and calculations, and present design results during design reviews
Required qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of four years of equipment/component design experience; relevant M.S. degree can substitute for two years
  • Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III
  • Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Proficiency in finite element stress analysis and mechanical analysis methods, particularly with ANSYS
