Job Summary
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Component Design Engineer (RPA) will create design solutions for reactor structures and components, including the rotatable plug assembly equipment for the Natrium Generation IV Reactor, while collaborating with a team of engineers and scientists.
Key responsibilities
- Design reactor structures and components from initial requirements through final design
- Coordinate inputs from Engineering and Project teams to produce design solutions
- Perform scoping analysis and calculations, and present design results during reviews
Required qualifications
- B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of four years of equipment/component design experience; relevant M.S. degree credited as two years of experience
- Working experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III
- Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
- Familiarity with CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
