Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Components Engineer will review aerospace hardware designs for compliance with military specifications, evaluate electrical and electronic equipment, and manage part-level obsolescence to ensure production continuity.
Key responsibilities:
- Review designs of aerospace hardware and evaluate compliance against military specifications such as MIL-STD-11991
- Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation and apply statistical process control methods for data analysis
- Manage detailed part-level obsolescence, including monitoring BOMs and resolving issues to prevent production line stoppages
Required qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or Materials Engineering
- Minimum of three years of experience working with MIL-STD-11991 requirements and developing non-standard part approval requests (NSPARs)
- Experience interpreting manufacturer datasheets, source control drawings, and Bills of Materials
- Strong understanding of active and passive electronic piece parts and their operation
- Familiarity with Destructive Physical Analysis and MIL-STD-883 test methods is desired
