Connecticut Certified Inpatient Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder 2 Certified / HIM Coding.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews inpatient clinical documentation to assign appropriate diagnosis/procedure codes and MS-DRGs
• Codes complex medical records, including surgical and behavioral health cases, while adhering to coding standards
• Collaborates with clinical documentation specialists and other departments to ensure compliance and accurate DRG assignment

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of two to three years of experience in an acute care hospital
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding
• Familiarity with UHDDS and various DRG methodologies
