Job Summary
To support the financial operations of a healthcare facility, the full-time Connecticut Licensed Financial Clearance Analyst will manage complex patient authorizations, including insurance verification and medical necessity validation, while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Collects and validates patient insurance information, ensuring accuracy in the Epic system
- Obtains prior authorizations from third-party payers and communicates necessary information to patients and clinicians
- Maintains accurate records of authorizations and collaborates with departments to improve patient access and financial clearance activities
Required qualifications
- High school graduate or GED required; Associate Degree preferred
- CRCS or equivalent certification for Access Professionals required or in process (within 18 months of hire)
- Two to three years of experience in insurance authorization/verification or related areas preferred
- Strong organizational skills and knowledge of payer reimbursement processes
- Intermediate understanding of medical terminology and diagnostic coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM/PCS)
