Job Summary
To support the Financial Clearance Center, the full-time Connecticut Licensed Financial Specialist will ensure payer readiness for reimbursement by verifying insurance benefits and authorizations for transplant, surgical, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy patients while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Verifies patients' insurance and benefits information, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations
- Obtains prior authorizations and communicates coverage information to patients and clinicians
- Maintains accurate records of authorizations and identifies opportunities for workflow improvements
Required qualifications
- High school graduate or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Three to four years of experience in insurance authorization/verification or revenue cycle functions preferred
- CRCS or equivalent certification for Access Professionals required within 18 months of hire
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMS), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) status preferred
- Advanced knowledge of code sets and third-party payer regulations for relevant service lines
