Connecticut Licensed Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support life-saving Lifeline products, the full-time Connecticut Licensed Medical Billing Specialist will manage Medicaid authorizations, review claims for accuracy, and ensure timely follow-up on billing discrepancies in a remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and enter Medicaid authorizations accurately to ensure clean claims are released
• Review claims for accuracy of procedures, diagnoses, and insurance information
• Monitor Accounts Receivable days and communicate proactively about billing issues

Required qualifications

• Associates Degree in Medical Billing and Coding or Accounting, preferred
• 2+ years of experience in medical billing, preferably with Medicaid and Managed Care reimbursement
• Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding and medical terminology
• Strong technical skills with Excel and billing software
• Ability to manage relationships with various insurance payers and agencies
