Job Summary
To support the financial operations of a healthcare setting, the full-time Connecticut Licensed Patient Accounts Representative will coordinate accounts receivable collections, resolve outstanding balances, and manage patient inquiries while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Audits and resolves accounts with credit and outstanding balances while determining the disposition of delinquent accounts
- Posts payments and adjustments, rebills or adjusts accounts as necessary, and collaborates with Office Managers on data quality
- Responds to patient inquiries and provides coverage within the department as needed
Required qualifications
- Associates degree in Health Information Management Systems (or related field) with 1+ years of experience in a healthcare billing and collections office, or Coding Certification/Billing Certificate with 2 years of experience
- In-depth knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Codes, Medicare and Medicaid billing rules, and insurance reimbursement methods
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook
