Job Summary
Serving as the central point of contact for patient referrals, the full-time Connecticut Licensed Referral Specialist will coordinate and schedule ambulatory referrals, manage incoming referral evaluations, and provide information on scheduling policies while working remotely from Connecticut.
Key responsibilities
- Oversees the coordination and scheduling of patient ambulatory referrals for specific specialties
- Acts as the primary source of information for new patient referrals and scheduling inquiries from patients and providers
- Utilizes critical thinking and active listening skills to manage patient interactions and direct them to appropriate resources
Required qualifications
- Six years of related work experience, including four years in the same job family, or an Associate's degree with related experience
- Proven experience in a high-volume healthcare call center or medical practice
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with electronic medical record systems and high-volume telephone operations
- Ability to handle confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
