Job Summary
Working remotely within Connecticut, the full-time Connecticut Licensed Referral Specialist will manage patient referrals for a specific specialty, coordinating scheduling and serving as the primary contact for new patient information and referring providers.
Key responsibilities
- Oversees and coordinates all activities related to patient referrals, ensuring effective communication with patients and providers
- Critically evaluates incoming referrals and manages the scheduling of patient appointments in accordance with departmental policies
- Acts as a principal source of information for patients and referring offices regarding scheduling policies, procedures, and provider availability
Required qualifications
- Six years of related work experience, with four years in a similar role, or an Associate's degree with relevant experience
- Substantial knowledge of medical practices and terminology
- Proven experience in a high-volume healthcare call center or medical practice
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage heavy phone volume effectively
- Competence in handling confidential patient information while complying with HIPAA regulations
