Construction Lending Underwriter

Job Summary

To support a growing construction lending team, the full-time remote Construction Lending Underwriter will review, analyze, and process bridge and construction loan transactions while collaborating closely with loan officers and builders.

Key responsibilities

• Function as the subject matter expert for bridge and construction loan products, providing guidance on loan structure and guidelines
• Review loan applications for compliance with guidelines and submit exception requests as necessary
• Communicate with loan officers regarding loan eligibility, structuring, and outstanding requirements throughout the review process

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of mortgage underwriting or junior underwriting experience
• Working knowledge of residential mortgage underwriting guidelines and risk principles
• Experience with Encompass, Fannie Mae Desktop Underwriter, and Freddie Mac Loan Product Advisor
• Construction and bridge lending product experience is preferred
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state mortgage lending regulations
