Construction Underwriter

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Construction Underwriter, the full-time remote position will evaluate credit and property documents in loan files, identify risks, and make decisions on loan approvals or declines based on underwriting guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Review loan submissions and generate initial credit decisions in accordance with various guidelines
• Evaluate mortgage loan applications for eligibility and compliance with state, federal, and investor guidelines
• Perform credit and property analysis, including complex tax return evaluations and timely reviews of loan conditions

Required qualifications

• Government underwriting experience with CHUMS and/or SAR ID
• Strong knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, Bond, and 203k underwriting requirements
• Five or more years of mortgage underwriting experience, specifically in Construction & Renovation loans
• Current Direct Endorsement (DE) and/or LAPP/SAR certifications
• High School diploma or equivalent
