Job Summary
To support advocacy efforts against gender-based violence in Kyrgyzstan, the part-time Consultant on Legal and Policy Advocacy will engage with government authorities and stakeholders, develop advocacy proposals, and coordinate strategic initiatives remotely from Kyrgyzstan.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and advance strategic advocacy opportunities related to gender-based violence and access to justice
- Engage with government authorities and civil society organizations to promote legal and policy changes
- Draft advocacy materials, recommendations, and correspondence for national and international mechanisms
Required qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy, legal reform, or human rights related to gender-based violence in Kyrgyzstan
- Proven track record of engaging with government authorities and civil society organizations
- Strong understanding of Kyrgyzstan's legal framework concerning gender-based violence and disability rights
- Experience in drafting formal advocacy materials and policy recommendations
- Fluency in Russian and/or Kyrgyz, with professional proficiency in English
