Consultant on Gender-Based Violence Advocacy

Job Summary

To support advocacy efforts against gender-based violence in Kyrgyzstan, the part-time Consultant on Legal and Policy Advocacy will engage with government authorities and stakeholders, develop advocacy proposals, and coordinate strategic initiatives remotely from Kyrgyzstan.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and advance strategic advocacy opportunities related to gender-based violence and access to justice
• Engage with government authorities and civil society organizations to promote legal and policy changes
• Draft advocacy materials, recommendations, and correspondence for national and international mechanisms

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in advocacy, legal reform, or human rights related to gender-based violence in Kyrgyzstan
• Proven track record of engaging with government authorities and civil society organizations
• Strong understanding of Kyrgyzstan's legal framework concerning gender-based violence and disability rights
• Experience in drafting formal advocacy materials and policy recommendations
• Fluency in Russian and/or Kyrgyz, with professional proficiency in English
