Job Summary
Supporting oncology patients within a Collaborative Care Model, the full-time Consulting Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide direct psychiatric evaluation and treatment, assist with medication recommendations, and collaborate with behavioral health care managers and oncology teams in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Join weekly consultation meetings to review the Collaborative Care Model patient registry
- Support the consulting psychiatrist in evaluating treatment plans and making medication recommendations for oncology patients
- Provide direct psychiatric evaluation and treatment, including prescribing medications within the scope of practice
Required qualifications
- An active, unrestricted license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) with psychiatric training
- Experience with oncology patients or those with chronic/serious medical illnesses
- Experience supporting patients with suicidal ideation and/or trauma
- Ability to treat co-occurring psychiatric conditions in a medically complex population
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within a supervised care model
