Content Strategist

Job Summary

To support enterprise clients in content modernization, the freelance Content Strategist will lead projects focused on information architecture, taxonomy, and governance, working remotely on a project-based contract basis that typically lasts 1-4 months, with most opportunities being full-time.

Key responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder interviews and synthesize research to identify strategic priorities and content gaps
• Audit navigation and taxonomy, facilitating workshops to validate content decisions with customer language
• Develop a structured data strategy to enhance content discoverability across search engines and AI systems

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in content strategy, information architecture, or a related discipline at a principal level
• Proven experience designing taxonomy and content models for complex content ecosystems
• Familiarity with structured data, schema markup, and AI-driven content optimization
• Working knowledge of how AI systems retrieve and interpret content
• Experience in leading enterprise-level change management and cross-functional collaboration
