Continuing Education Instructor

Job Summary

Teaching asynchronously in a remote capacity, the part-time Continuing Education Instructor for Design & Illustration for Children's Books will develop and deliver online courses focused on visual storytelling, guiding students through the creation of polished picture book layouts while promoting inclusivity and constructive feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and teach online courses, providing timely feedback to enhance student learning
• Develop culturally diverse syllabi and course content, including recorded video demonstrations and lectures
• Guide students in the process of visual storytelling, character development, and design layout for children's books

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Professional experience in design and illustration for children's books, with evidence of recognition in the field
• Teaching experience, including syllabus and lesson plan development tied to learning outcomes
• In-depth knowledge of design and illustration specifically for children's books
• Ability to create an inclusive learning environment for a diverse group of students
