Contract Grant Writer

Job Summary

To support impactful criminal justice reform initiatives, the remote Contract Grant Writer will research and draft compelling grant proposals, manage grant compliance, and collaborate with key staff to secure funding for core programs and new efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Research and identify new funding opportunities, developing high-quality grant proposals and progress reports aligned with organizational priorities
• Assist in managing grant-related information and deadlines using EveryAction, ensuring compliance and tracking deliverables
• Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate grant applications and develop accurate proposal budgets

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• Five or more years of proven grant writing experience with a successful track record of securing various grant awards
• Experience in grants and major donor coordination, preferably with knowledge of donor database tools
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with financial management in a nonprofit context
• Passion for advancing criminal justice reform is preferred
