Job Summary

Crafting atmospheric and dread-soaked lighting, the Contract Lighting Artist will work remotely on a contract basis to design and implement optimized lighting across game environments, collaborating with various teams to enhance the visual storytelling of the indie horror game franchise.

Key responsibilities
  • Design and implement optimized lighting using Unreal Engine's GPU Lightmass workflows to enhance mood and narrative
  • Collaborate with environment, VFX, and art direction teams to maintain visual consistency across game chapters
  • Develop and maintain lighting standards, style guides, and best-practice documentation for the team
Required qualifications
  • 4+ years of games industry experience with at least one shipped title
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 lighting and GPU Lightmass pipeline
  • Strong understanding of real-world lighting, photography, and cinematography principles
  • Proven ability to create horror, suspense, or atmospheric lighting styles
  • Experience optimizing lighting for real-time performance on PC and console
