Control Plane API Engineer
Job Summary
To support a global, multi-region platform, the full-time Control Plane API Engineer will design and build control-plane services including tenant management, billing, and API systems while working remotely from San Jose, CA or Austin, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build control-plane services such as tenant management, billing, ticketing, and API systems
- Architect the global vs. regional control-plane split and ensure cross-region consistency
- Develop self-service onboarding and automation to streamline delivery processes
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in building backend services, control planes, or web platforms (6+ years for senior roles)
- Strong backend engineering skills in Go, Java, or Python, along with API design and distributed systems knowledge
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS or cloud control planes, particularly in billing and quota systems
- Familiarity with RBAC, authentication methods (OAuth/OIDC), and audit processes
- Experience in multi-region and distributed consistency is a plus
