Controller

Job Summary

Managing client relationships and leading a team, the full-time remote Controller will oversee workflow, drive the month-end close process, and prepare financial statements while ensuring high-quality service for clients in the Venture Capital and Private Equity space.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the main point of contact for multiple clients, coordinating workflow and managing team interactions
• Drive the month-end close process and prepare quarterly financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Respond to ad-hoc client requests and manage year-end financial statement audits and tax work

Required qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the alternative asset industry, preferably in Venture Capital or Private Equity
• In-depth understanding of US GAAP and partnership accounting, including complex allocation waterfalls
• Experience in a client-facing role leading engagements on multiple clients
• Proficiency in accounting systems such as Xero or Quickbooks
• Comfortable with software systems including Gsuite, Microsoft Office, Box, and Slack
