Controller and Accounting Manager

Job Summary

To support the finance team, the full-time Controller & Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting operations, oversee the monthly and annual close processes, and ensure compliance with financial reporting and internal controls in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, accounts payable, and payroll oversight
• Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and ensure compliance with grant and fund accounting requirements
• Supervise the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role
• Experience in nonprofit accounting and audit processes
• Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit fund accounting
• Proficiency in Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems
