Job Summary

Joining a remote editorial team, the Copy Editor will focus on high-level copy editing, editorial quality control, and freelancer management while ensuring all content meets established standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Copy edit and proofread articles for grammar, clarity, and overall editorial quality
• Assign stories to freelance writers and manage multiple assignments and deadlines
• Fact-check and verify editorial details to ensure accuracy and consistency

Required Qualifications

• Experience at a newspaper, magazine, digital publication, or comparable editorial organization
• Strong knowledge of English grammar, syntax, and AP Style guidelines
• Ability to identify factual inconsistencies and unsupported claims
• Familiarity with publishing stories through a CMS
• Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects
