Job Summary
Consulting with researchers on light microscopy projects, the full-time Core Scientist will provide technical expertise in sample preparation, instrument selection, and data analysis while also developing workflows and training users on core equipment and software platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Consult with investigators regarding technical aspects of light microscopy experiments and provide follow-up documentation
- Develop workflows and train users in data analysis on core workstations, ensuring access to training materials
- Collaborate with core staff for routine maintenance of instruments and assist with troubleshooting and service engineer coordination
Required qualifications
- PhD in a relevant field; or Master's Degree with 5 years of experience; or Bachelor's with 9 years of relevant experience
- Ability to explain advanced microscopy applications and evaluate imaging platforms for experimental goals
- Experience with ZEISS ZEN and Arivis software platforms for image data analysis
- Knowledge of imaging experiment design focusing on rigor and reproducibility
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting imaging systems within a core facility
