Corporate Counsel (California Licensed)

Job Summary

Supporting a diverse range of legal functions, the full-time Corporate Counsel (California Licensed) will provide in-house legal guidance primarily on employment law issues, manage compliance risks, and oversee litigation matters while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on employment law issues, including wage and hour compliance, internal investigations, and performance management
• Manage general litigation matters and supervise outside counsel on employment-related disputes and compliance audits
• Collaborate with HR to develop training programs and review internal policies to mitigate legal risks

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and member in good standing of a U.S. State Bar
• 5+ years of experience in employment law, with a preference for in-house and law firm experience
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, independent contractor classification, and commercial contracts
• Experience managing litigation and outside counsel, with a focus on compliance matters
• Ability to work EST or CST time and handle a varied docket of legal issues as a generalist attorney
