Job Summary
Supporting the Vice President of Employment and Immigration Law, the full-time Corporate Counsel - HR (NY, IL, CA, TX, DC) will manage employment and labor law matters, provide legal support for HR initiatives, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in responding to agency matters and general litigation, providing analysis on hiring, terminations, and employee relations
- Monitor legislative changes and provide strategic advice on compliance and risk mitigation
- Draft and revise employment-related policies and manage internal audits and process reviews
Required qualifications
- Law degree from a major U.S. law school (or foreign equivalent) with an active license to practice in NY, IL, CA, TX, or DC
- Minimum of 2 years of labor and employment experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Experience with litigation processes, including responding to demand letters and preparing position statements
- Strong understanding of employment law and company policies, as well as state and federal legislation
- Ability to balance legal and business needs while assessing risk in decision-making
