CPA Assistant Controller

Job Summary

Reporting to the VP, Controller, the full-time remote Assistant Controller will manage the organization's accounting operations, oversee financial reporting and regulatory compliance, and lead the small business lending function from origination through servicing.

Key responsibilities

• Owns and reviews the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close, ensuring GAAP compliance and accuracy of financial statements
• Prepares and reviews the credit union Call Report and other regulatory filings, ensuring timely submission and reconciliation with the general ledger
• Manages the small business loan function, including processing, documentation, and servicing, while maintaining accurate loan records

Required qualifications

• Active CPA license required
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing month-end close and external audits
