CPA Assistant Controller

Job Summary

Detail-oriented and technically sharp, the remote Assistant Controller will manage accurate financial records through journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable approvals, and month-end close activities while serving as the primary owner of the bordereaux review process and collaborating across departments to ensure financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary owner of the insurance policy bordereaux review process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of carrier reports and related payment activity
• Act as a liaison among Data, Finance, Product, and Program departments to identify discrepancies and coordinate timely solutions
• Lead or support the implementation and improvement of accounting workflows by leveraging technology and automation

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger accounting and financial reporting
• Experience with month-end close processes required
• Insurance industry experience required
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, with the ability to analyze large volumes of financial data
