CPA Controller

Job Summary

Leading a high-performing accounting function, the remote 16-month contract Controller will manage full-cycle accounting operations, oversee month-end and year-end close processes, and mentor a team of accounting professionals while leveraging AI and automation to enhance workflows and drive efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and improve month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting
• Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance
• Mentor and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performance culture

Required qualifications

• CPA designation with 7+ years of experience in a tech, SaaS, or high-growth environment
• 5+ years of people leadership experience with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams
• Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes for a multi-entity, multi-currency organization
• Familiarity with Canadian and US payroll standards, including hands-on payroll preparation experience
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of driving impactful improvements
