CPA Financial Controller

Job Summary

Seeking a Financial Controller for the Public Sector, this full-time remote position will manage financial operations, ensuring compliance with federal regulations while providing strategic insights to support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and federal financial reporting
• Oversee the General Ledger, including account reconciliations and AP/AR workflows specific to Public Sector operations
• Act as the primary contact for external CPA auditors and manage federal/state tax compliance and contract execution processes

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of finance and accounting experience, with 3-5 years in government contracting managing federal compliance
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition
• Experience with federal cost accounting principles and familiarity with FAR/DFARS and CAS compliance
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, with CPA certification required
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems
