CPA Licensed Assistant Controller

Job Summary

To support the financial operations team, the full-time salaried CPA Licensed Assistant Controller will oversee accounting operations, technical accounting, and financial reporting while developing a high-performing team in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical accounting function, leading U.S. GAAP research, policy development, and ensuring audit-ready documentation
• Lead core accounting operations, including payroll accounting and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and strong controls
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting team, establishing standards and a culture of continuous improvement

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant leadership in technical accounting and financial reporting
• CPA license with public accounting experience, preferably from a Big 4 or national firm
• Deep technical accounting expertise in translating U.S. GAAP guidance into practical applications
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical accounting memos and policies, along with audit support
• Hands-on knowledge of month-end close processes and experience implementing new accounting tools
