CPA Licensed Controller

Job Summary

To support a higher education client, the contract Controller will manage the month-end close process, oversee general ledger functions, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while driving process improvements and efficiencies across accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the full month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP
• Drive process standardization and automation across accounting functions to improve efficiency
• Coordinate annual financial audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance with regulations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role
• Higher education accounting experience required
• Demonstrated expertise in Banner Finance
• Proven track record of process improvement and managing complex reconciliations
