CPA Licensed VP, Accounting Policy

Job Summary

Serving as the firm-wide subject matter expert on technical accounting policy for complex reinsurance transactions, the remote CPA Licensed VP, Accounting Policy will manage U.S. GAAP, U.S. Statutory, and Bermuda statutory reporting frameworks while collaborating with various teams to ensure sound accounting outcomes and policy documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical specialist for complex reinsurance transactions and policy interpretations, focusing on ASC 944
• Research and establish accounting policies for complex reinsurance structures, ensuring consistency and audit defensibility
• Monitor and document developments from regulatory bodies that could impact the Company's accounting policies and practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline
• CPA, CA, or equivalent internationally recognized accounting designation
• 8+ years of progressive experience in audit or within re/insurance or financial services, with Big 4 experience preferred
• Experience in US GAAP and SEC reporting is required
• Hands-on experience with complex reinsurance structures and long duration reinsurance accounting (ASC 944)
