CPA Licensed VP of Accounting

Job Summary

To lead the accounting function for a rapidly growing mortgage fintech, the full-time remote CPA Licensed VP of Accounting will manage the integrity of financial records, oversee the monthly and quarterly close processes, and drive automation initiatives across accounting systems.

Key responsibilities

• Owning the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all legal entities and driving cycle efficiency without compromising control
• Leading technical accounting for mortgage banking instruments and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to automate processes, enhance data quality, and support financial reporting and SEC compliance

Required qualifications

• Active CPA license
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and industry roles
• 3+ years of experience in mortgage banking or financial services accounting
• Experience in a leadership role at an SEC registrant, with direct responsibility for SEC reporting and SOX compliance
• Proven track record of improving accounting functions through systems implementation and process automation
